B-Scout Master

Receiving data from the tunnel entrance photometers, the B-ScoutMaster commands the B-Scout controllers to switch or dim the lighting into the appropriate pattern in accordance with the lighting design. Automatic monitoring of fuses and lamps, and the inclusion of lamp fail compensation, cascade switching and lamp life equalisation routines ensure that the tunnel lighting performs in the most efficient and reliable manner possible.

The unit comes in a stand alone enclosure which can be wall mounted, providing an attractive and functional control centre which is fully self contained*. Sealed to IP54, the unit has a glass front door with access to the 17” high resolution colour touch screen and an industrial metal keyboard and trackball.

* With the exception of the remote devices such as photometers and B-Scouts etc.

Part of the internationally renowned i-TunneL® lighting control and monitoring system, the B-ScoutMaster forms the centralised command centre for the entire tunnel lighting installation. Refined and developed over many years, the B-ScoutMaster provides the most extensive yet user friendly digital tunnel control available today. With its in-house designed and developed software and formed in an attractive yet functional enclosure, the B-ScoutMaster is designed specifically for tunnel applications and offers the most versatile and dynamic arrangement available. Coupled to the extensive list of projects where the system has been successfully employed, the i-TunneL® B-Scout system is considered by many to be the industry standard for modern tunnel lighting control.

  • The system offers significantly reduced installation, infrastructure and labour costs
  • Designed and manufactured in the UK with third party certification
  • Operates with a wide variety of tunnel lighting applications (without modification)
  • User friendly controls via 17” H/R touch screen and keyboard
  • Variety of input and output options
  • Industrial grade computer incorporating Intel® Pentium® M processor technology

  • SCADA interfacing prepared in conjunction with the specific tunnel SCADA provider
  • MasterLink™ remote control software available if no SCADA present (via ADSL line)
  • Full technical support available direct from the system designers and field engineering team
  • Complete system including luminaires, B-Scout controllers, B-ScoutMaster, software etc. designed, supplied and guaranteed by one company.

Example Topology

The topology below shows a typical installation, however there are many arrangements that can be accommodated by the system. Please contact WRTL i-TunneL® for assistance.

Connections

The B-ScoutMaster is provided with a removable gland plate including 12 No. 20mm and 4 No. 25mm knockouts, allowing access to the termination chamber, where the appropriate connections can be made to the clearly labelled termination panel – see below:

Software Application

The B-ScoutMaster is a menu-driven Windows® based application that provides a user-friendly software interface for monitoring and controlling a network of B-Scout units. Whilst the extent of the available options and settings is vast, most of the set-up and commissioning work is carried out off-site by WRTL personnel. The complete set of lighting databases and system configuration is fully prepared to agreed parameters prior to delivery.

Options

  • Project-specific bespoke software additions and alterations by in-house developers
  • SCADA interface development
  • Purpose built UPS available in matching housing
  • Loop-back bus facility for fully redundant data-bus requirements
