Lighting Performance

Over the past decade Indal has made a considerable investment in the research and development of LED light sources, driver technology and optical systems. This research resulted in prototype testing and field trials at the embryonic stage, the learning from which has been incorporated into and driven the evolution of the current Stela range.

The key aims of the Stela solution are to deliver sustainable public lighting and to minimise the total cost of ownership over a typical service life of 100,000 hours. Stela achieves these goals in two ways:

1. Providing an energy efficient lighting solution that produces only the amount of light necessary to illuminate the required area, and
2. The light source has a minimal depreciation over a very long service life, which eliminates the need for lamp change and reduces the number of visits to the column for maintenance.
