Research carried out during the 1990s showed that criminals do take account of potential levels of security and location features, including escape routes and visibility to witnesses when assessing the risk of being caught. It is generally accepted, therefore, that good lighting does have a positive impact on the rate of crime and this is enhanced by the use of Full Spectrum (or white) light sources.
